About Us
Ohnstad Hockey was founded in 2024 by Justin Ohnstad. Our goal is to provide an affordable, yet highly skilled training program for on & off-ice hockey skills. We are a young coaching staff with knowledge in all positions of the sport. We push our players to be their best, and push beyond what they think their limits are. We expect our players to show up with an excitement for growth and upmost respect for the staff. We all are learning at every step of our life, so why not spend it learning with the Ohnstad coaching staff!

Justin Ohnstad
Owner/Head Coach
Im Justin Ohnstad, Owner and coach at Ohnstad Hockey. I played college hockey at the University of Mary where I won 2 National Championships. I have been coaching since I was 16 years old in training camps, and student coaching youth teams. In 2022-2023 I was an Assistant Coach with the Isanti Outlaws in the USPHL. In 2023-2024 I was an Assistant Coach with the East Metro Stars Bantam B1 team. My goal with coaching is to find the connection every hockey player does to the sport, and remind our youth that it is an honor to be a hockey player. Excited to train with you!
Tanner Eskro
Head Coach
Im Coach Tanner Eskro. I played College Hockey at the University of Mary for 4 years. During my time at Umary, I won 2 National Championships and was an Academic All-American. I recently graduated with a degree in Coaching and Sports Management. I have been playing hockey my whole life, and have coached competitive hockey for the last 3 years. My most recent coaching job was with the Mandan Braves Varsity Boys Hockey team. One thing that I want to give back to the game of hockey is my vast knowledge of how the game unfolds, and analyze that game at such a fast pace. I look forward to coaching with such a great staff here at Ohnstad Hockey.
Tristan Sucher
Goalie Coach
I'm goalie coach Tristan Sucher. I've played hockey for 14 years. I played 3 seasons in the USPHL with the Isanti Outlaws. I am currently exploring options for the start of my college career. I have been a goalie coach for 4+ years now and am excited to join the Ohnstad Hockey staff. I'm excited to work with the goalies coming in, and ready to help you grow your skills to the next level!
Gary Ohnstad
Coach
I'm coach Gary Ohnstad. I have been coaching for 15+ years. I played high school hockey for Minneapolis South. I coached squirts at Anoka for the 2023-2024 season. Before that I coached many seasons with north metro squirts, and peewee teams. I love finding the fun in all things hockey and am excited to join the staff to grow our younger players.
Blake Redding
Media / Coach
I'm coach Blake Redding. I played hockey for 16 years, immediately after high school I became a coach. I have been a coach for multiple years now, previously with the North Metro peewee, and bantam teams. I have 2 years and counting of graphic design experience and social media. I am very excited about the opportunity to continue to grow as a social media manager, and as a coach. Im excited to share my knowledge and help kids achieve their goals with the Ohnstad Hockey staff. Blake is also the creator of our amazing logo!
